SUSTAIN jack vs PEDAL UNIT
The P-145 and the P-145BT have two pedal jacks: SUSTAIN and PEDAL UNIT. The included footswitch and the FC3A both use SUSTAIN. The LP-5A uses PEDAL UNIT. It is not a portable triple pedal you drop on the floor; it is assembled on the keyboard stand L-100 (black SKU L-100B).
The P-143 has SUSTAIN only. It has no PEDAL UNIT jack, so the LP-5A is not for a P-143. Do not buy the L-100 plus LP-5A setup for that piano.
Yamaha lists the L-100 stand for the P-145. The black Amazon listing (ASIN B0CGNWHKPJ) is $119.99. That listing's title mentions P143B, which is narrower than Yamaha's fit list — and Sweetwater lists the same stand for the P-145. Confirm L-100 / L-100B for the P-145 before you order.

FC4A or FC5
These are separately sold on/off footswitches. They are not an upgrade if you already have the included switch. The pedal in the box is already that kind of pedal.

Do not buy the FC35 for this piano. Yamaha's official FC35 list is P-121, P-125, P-125a, P-225, P-515, P-525, P-S500, and DGX-670. The P-145 is absent. The connector is mini-DIN. This is a compatibility list, not a lab test.

These are not the supported unit. Full three-pedal and half-damper behavior on the P-145 is unverified. Do not buy one expecting LP-5A behavior.
Polarity gotcha
Connect or disconnect the pedal only with the power off. Do not hold the pedal while powering on, or sustain reverses (notes ring when the pedal is up, and stop when you press it). Fix: power off, then on, without pressing the pedal.
